Laws helped and still help build countries, most laws have been around for hundreds of years, over the years a lot of laws have been reviewed and updated to co-inside with current cultural views, beliefs and the current times. Unfortunately a large proportion of these also get forgotten and the reasoning behind them becomes lost.
This list of laws may never have been enforced, or they could be so old that the laws in questions and what they implied to no longer exist (or ever existed). Even so, these laws are still legally valid, because no one’s repealed them. Jurisdictions in North America force producers to make their margarine different colors to ensure consumers didn’t mix it up with butter!? Or that Japan forces women to wear bras in buildings with air conditioning!?
